On Sunday, the 20th annual BET Awards took place virtually with appearances by Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, and Megan Thee Stallion.
The awards show saw Lizzo take home that best female R&B/pop artist prize. Lizzo can now brag about the fact that she beat Beyoncé, who had won 10 times in this category.
Beyoncé, her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, were awarded the BET HER award for “Brown Skin Girl.” Blue Ivy is now the youngest winner in BET history.
As for Megan Thee Stallion, she gave a fiery performance in the middle of the desert and picked up best female hip-hop artist — an honor that went to Cardi B and Nicki Minaj in the past years.
Chris Brown was named the best male R&B/pop artist for the fifth time, and Migos won the best group. DaBaby sent Drake packing and claimed the best male hip-hop artist award.
Gymnast Simone Biles beat Serena Williams to win the sportswoman of the year for the first time. Here are the artists who won big at the BET Awards.
