In An Amazing Addition To The Game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Allows Players To Use Wheel Chairs

As it turns out, there is a feature inside of the latest edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons that allows its players to get out there and rock a wheelchair for their player. This is truly incredible stuff for a couple of reasons, all of which can best be understood by taking a look at the state of video games in recent years. As many of us have already discovered, most games only allow players to run around on two legs.

This is sadly very ableist in plenty of ways. Why? Well, as it turns out, there are plenty of people out there who want to play these games who are in wheelchairs, and by allowing them to play the game with their characters also in a wheelchair, they are allowed to play their character as if their character were, in fact, themselves. This helps to open up so many doors that video game developers never even knew existed. Keep reading below to find out more.

The game developers over at Nintendo Entertainment decided to spice things up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is the latest Animal Crossing in the series’ long history of video games, which stretches all the way back to the original Gamecube. There’s a lot to digest here, so just think about how many doors this opens up for all kinds of people out there. What a great addition!

Perhaps one of the best parts of the game is that there is almost total customizability within the game universe. You can go out there and design your own t-shirts and do stuff like tackle challenges. All in an effort to pay off your debt to the evil, anthropomorphic raccoon who holds you in debt slavery.

It is perhaps a very good thing the developers decided to make this decision. Why? Because at the end of the day, gamers are just sick and tired of all the nonsense, and if they keep getting pushed to the edge, then they are going to go out there and revolt against the society that is oppressing them. And the debt of slavery in the game just doesn’t help that issue at all.

But by offering up something in the game that is not only understanding but totally awesome, they have actually opened up the door to allowing people to go out there and make things happen. Thanks so much for all your help, Animal Crossing. Keep up the hard work!
