The supermodel of the Jenner-Kardashian family took to social media to address the current protests and encourage people to keep fighting to make a change. Kendall Jenner is one of the latest celebrities to show support to the Black Lives Matter movement in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing.
The Jenner started her lengthy statement by addressing everyone stumbling upon the post and encouraging them to ‘keep researching, reading, and educating yourself on how we can become better allies.’
At the same time, this was also a way to remind herself to do the same!
Kendall went on to tell her followers that ‘I’ve been doing a lot of thinking these past few days and my heart’s been so heavy. I am angry and hurt just like so many others. I’ll never personally understand the fear and the pain the black community goes through on a daily basis, but know that nobody should ever have to live in constant fear.’
Kendall then acknowledged her white privilege and promised to be a good ally nevertheless.
‘I will continue to educate myself on how I can help. raging on platforms cannot be all we do in order to repair the system, we need to take real action. this is a time to have all those uncomfortable conversations with people and with ourselves. We must also make sure we’re ready to vote when the time comes to elect the right people for office. the truth that will always ring the loudest is that BLACK LIVES MATTER. rest peacefully George Floyd and all of the victims of this horrible injustice.’
Kendall also joined #BlackOutTuesday by posting a simple black square with the caption: ‘@blklivesmatter.’
The model’s statement follows others coming from members of her huge reality TV family.
At this point, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner, who are also mothers of black children, have also shared their thoughts on the current situation.
