Just months after actor Jason Sudeikis won a Golden Globe for his role in “Ted Lasso,” Apple has announced the hit comedy will return to Apple TV Plus for a second season on July 23.

“Ted Lasso,” a soccer comedy focused on the fictional British team AFC Richmond, stars Sudeikis in the show’s titular role. Lasso is an American coach hired to lead AFC Richmond despite having “no experience,” according to Apple’s synopsis.

The show premiered in August 2020, and Apple has renewed the series for two more seasons. Season two will include 12 brand-new episodes. The show has received critical acclaim, and currently holds a “91% Fresh” rating on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes.

How to watch ‘Ted Lasso’

The second season of “Ted Lasso” will debut on Apple TV Plus on July 23. It’s unclear if all of the season’s 12 episodes will premiere on that date or if episodes will arrive weekly. For the first season, Apple debuted three episodes at once and then switched to a weekly schedule.

In addition to the upcoming second season, you can stream all 10 first season episodes of “Ted Lasso” right now on Apple TV Plus.

Apple TV Plus costs $5 a month for access to all of the platform’s exclusive streaming shows and movies. New members can get a free seven-day trial, and people who purchase select Apple devices can get a free one-year subscription. This deal is only good if you redeem your free subscription within 90 days of your device purchase.

You can access Apple TV Plus on most media devices and smart TV brands, including Apple TV 4K, Roku, and Fire TV.

Apple also bundles Apple TV Plus with other services as part of its Apple One platform. The base package includes Apple TV Plus, Apple Music, 50GB of iCloud, and Apple Arcade for $15 a month. Other plans include more iCloud storage and — if you pay $30 a month — you can get Apple News Plus and Apple Fitness Plus, as well.

New Apple One members can get a free one-month trial for any services they haven’t signed up for before. If you’re interested in any of Apple’s other services, Apple One is a better deal compared to Apple TV Plus on its own.
